– As Police Obtain Court Order To continue Keeping Him In Detention
There are reports of a plot by some state actors to ensure that Mazi Chinonso Uba, (Nonso Nkwa) a renowned broadcaster and human rights activist is kept out of circulation for as long as possible.
This, they intend to achieve by giving the no-nonsense social crusader conditions they know that he would never accept.
A source who visited him at the Maitama Police Station, Abuja recently said, “Nonso Nkwa is in very high spirit, but disclosed that some government officials through some police men are compelling him to tender unreserved apology to Governor Hope Uzodinma as the only condition to grant him bail”.
“But, Nonso Nkwa, in his usual blunt manner, said, that he outrightly rejected the advise, insisting that he did not commit any offence that will warrant him to apologise to any person”.
He also noted that, “the viral video where Asari Dokubo, publicly acknowledged that he owns a private military company that was engaged by the federal government of Nigeria to operate clandestinely in some states including Imo, Anambra, Kaduna, Benue and Abia, among others, has not only exonerated him but also given credence to what he said about Governor Hope Uzodinma, Asari Dokubo and the unfathomable insecurity in Imo State”.
It was also gathered that the Police, yesterday obtained a court judgment that authorized them to continue keeping the Ozisa fm radio station maestro in their custody.
Nonso Nkwa, who revealed this in a post on his face book handle, said “after 21 days in unlawful detention, police obtains Court Order to keep detaining him. This, he said, came after he had sued the Inspection General of Police ICP for unlawful detention and violation of his fundamental human rights.
