– As Land Owners Accuse Uzodimma, Commissioner For Transport Anunobi Of Selling Property
The relocation of Imo Transportation Company ITC from it’s former office along MCC / Uratta Road in Owerri, the Imo State capital to somewhere along Arugo Park along Owerri Onitsha Road, has elicited mixed reactions from the land owners and commuters who faulted the desperation with which the State government initiated and concluded the relocation process.
Commuters are reportedly, not comfortable with the relocation because of the absence of some necessary facilities in the present location and the fact that it is not as central as the former location which was more accessible. The original land owners on the orther hand are accusing the State Governor and the Commissioner for Transport of desperately facilitating the relocation of the transport company to enable them sell the large expanse of land and its appurtenances that are worth billions of naira.
The General Manager of ITC , Nze Emeka Duru PhD , had in a public notice which he personally signed , informed the general public that the transport company has been relocated.
The public notice reads, “this is to notify the general public and our esteemed numerous customer in Imo Transport Company Limited, (I.T.C) that we have relocated from our old park at Mcc/Uratta road to Arugo park along Onitsha road in the capital city of Owerri, Imo State.
This is line with the present urban renewal project of the 3R Shared Prosperity vision of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma to decongest the capital city, also to ensure that our customers who desire the best in the transport industry of the State get the best.
We regret the minor inconveniences this may have caused to our teeming clients and customers, but assure that we remain the best they can patronize in travelling in both Imo State and Nation at large.
Thanks for your warm patronage”.
