The support base of Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, (SamDaddy) governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, for the November, 11, 2023 election, has received a boost, following his adoption by a seasoned politician and grassroots mobilizer, Prince Marshal Okaforanyanwu, as sole candidate.
The Oru East Local Government Area born pioneer Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, in Imo State while speaking to this Reporter, said, “among those contesting the November, 11, governorship election, SamDaddy, is the most credible and outstanding in terms of capacity, achievements, love for and commitment to the welfare of the people”.
“I decided to throw my weight behind him after thoroughly screening and x-raying all the contestants. I came to the conclusion that, aside being the most qualified in all ramifications, his achievements as a Local Government Chairman, a member of the Imo State House of Assembly and later as Senator for Imo West Senatorial zone, stand him out as a unique politician and seasoned administrator who has what it takes to address the myriad of problems confronting our dear state at this point in time”.
Responding to a question, Prince Okoroafor Anyanwu stated that those currently behind the APC are the reason the party which, he, as pioneer State Chairman and others nurtured to maturity is no longer an option, for well meaning Imolites who have the interest of the state and her people at heart.
He urged Imolites to throw their weight behind Senator Samuel Anyanwu and the PDP, for the lost glory of the state to be restored.
Recall, that Okoroafor Anyanwu, in a recent statement published in the Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, posited that though, he had resigned his membership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP where he served as state chairman, he was yet to join any political party but would make his stand known very soon.
He further said, “as far as the November, 11, governorship election in Imo State is concerned, antecedent, pedigree and track record must count, to avoid the mistake of the past”.
