– Okorocha’s Loyalists, Make List
The Deputy Governor of Imo State Prof. Placid Njoku on Monday stood in for the Governor as he inaugurated 247 newly appointed Special Advisers in the State, including ex Imo State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, and loyalist of former Governor Rochas Okorocha who are now loyal to the 3R administration.
Prof. Njoku while addressing the appointees noted that their appointment is to restore integrity of the State and Imolites,urging them to be community ambassadors in their various local council areas preaching the infrastructural and social achievements of the shared prosperity administration.
According to the number two citizen, “Your service to the State government and Imolites is to restore leadership in your villages and ward level by working in the interest of the Government and our people.
Identify honest and trustworthy persons who will be elected as LGA Executives following the upcoming LG elections which will hold soon”. Njoku stated
Finally Prof Njoku, hinted that their performance will be accessed, while stating that they should collectively work with Government Liaison Officers to tackle insecurity at the grassroot.
Speaking on behalf of the new appointees, Ex Imo Speaker Acho Ihim, described the 3R administration of Governor Uzodimma as one with people-oriented policies, while pledging their unalloyed support in building bridges to achieve the vision of the Government.
It would be recalled that the announcement of their appointment was made public in February, as loyalists to former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha made the list, they include Ichie Best Mbanaso, Mr. Daniel Nwafor, Frank Onwumere and Chidi Nwaturuocha.
Some concerned Imolites who commented on the development, wondered why the Special Advisers whose appointments was announced in February had to wait until July, 17, 2023 to be inaugurated, five months later.
They attributed the 5 month delay to the Governor’s consistent absence from his duty post at the expense of state matters”.
A government house source who pleaded anonymity disclosed to this reporter that the governor who came back to Imo over the weekend with intention of staying for some weeks ,got wind of President Bola Tinubu’s return from international engagement and hurridly went back to Abuja yesterday to welcome the President.
It has severally been reported that Senator Hope Uzodinma is making effort to endear himself to Tinubu and his camp.Uzodinma who reportedly paid for the nomination form of former Senate President, Almed Lawal against choice of Tinubu is not in good book of the President.
The source further said,”trust Uzodinma,he will succeed in convincing Tinubu and his camp on why they should support his reelection bid.I don’t know how far he can go with this but for now,all is not well with Uzodinma”,he stated.
