President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday submitted a list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate, 24 hours to the expiration of the 60 days stipulated for the President and governors in the present dispensation to submit lists of ministers and commissioners to the senate and houses of assembly respectively for confirmation.
The list of ministers which had elicited speculations and anxiety in different quarters has the names of the Imo State Commissioner for Finance Dr Doris Anite Uzoka, who is believed to be a very close confidant of Governor Uzodinma. Also included in the list of ministers are the former Governors of Rivers and Kaduna states, Nyesom Wike and Nasir El Rufai. Though the ministerial nominees are yet to be assigned specific portfolios, they are, “Abubakar Momoh, Ambassador Yusuf Miatama Tukur CON, Arch. Ahmed Dangiwa, Barr. Hannatu Musawa, Chief Uche Nnaji, Dr. Betta Edu, Dr. Dorris Anite Uzoka, H.E. David Umahi, H.E. Nyesom Wike, H.E. Badaru Abubakar CON, H.E. Nasiru Ahmed Elrufai, Rt. Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo, Hon. A cross section of Imolites are wondering why Governor Uzodinma nominated Dr Doris Anite Uzoka as the candidate to occupy the ministerial slot of Imo State, considering the series of allegations of official misconduct against her and her loyalists who presided over the affairs of the Imo Internal Revenue Service, a parastal under her watch as the Commissioner for Finance.
