–Prides Self As Critical Stakeholder Of Party
The People’s Democratic Party Candidate in the just concluded Ihitte/Uboma State Constituency election, Hon. Obed Ajonuma has reacted to news making around that he has left the party.
Reacting to the message making rounds of his purported cum alleged decamp from the People’s Democratic Party, the pragmatic Ihitte/Uboma born politician frown at the news, describing it as fallacious, deceptive, misleading, unfounded, fabricated and fictitious.
In a video through his personal social media handle, Hon. Ajonuma explained that a meeting of stakeholders of his ward, Awuchinumo was conveyed irrespective of political party affiliation, which he was duly invited as a critical stakeholder.
The meeting was geared towards harmonization and instilling a state of repose and tranquility to foster peace, love and progress. He said,” It is unfortunate and irresponsible that anyone can speak ill of my humble self, as it regards my belief in the PDP. I want to tell you my friends, fans and supporters that the circulating information is spurious and a lie from the pit of hell. Let me make it known to everyone that I have no intention of leaving the party yet and it is unfortunate for anyone to even have such thought.
“As at today, no one is more PDP than myself in Ihitte/Uboma, as I have continued to give PDP a new face in my LGA. The Speaker of the Imo State House Of Assembly is my brother and for the sake of the good, growth and development of Awuchinumo and Ihitte/Uboma at large, I have decided to support every initiative or plans of his, to bring sustainable development to Awuchinumo in particular and Ihitte/Uboma at large. This does not in anyway speak or show that I have left the party. We must stop seeing politics as a battle field, but as a process to enthrone good leadership and make the society better.
“I urge you all my people to continue to keep faith, remain calm and do not allow these mischievous beings whose only interest is to destroy the party for self aggrandizement and rubbish my hard earned respect and reputation. On the said of the event, I publicly made it known to my people and the Speaker in particular that I still remain a adent supporter and party faithful of the PDP which will not stop me from giving him brotherly support where and when necessary”, he stated in his speech.
He further stated that if he has any intention of leaving the party, he will openly do so, but as for now, he has no reason of leaving the party as PDP Ihitte/Uboma can be best described as his child.
He reamphasized that the Speaker of Imo State House who is his brother, should be supported as long as he is ready and willing to champion the long awaited development in Ihitte/Uboma and stand for the people, which is primarily the reason Hon. Obed joined the race.
He further stated that no one is ignorant of how the election of the Ihitte/Uboma State Assembly went but had to let go, to avoid further delay of the process for the development of Ihitte/Uboma, hence his reason for the withdrawal of his election petition at the tribunal.
He concluded by urging PDP faithful to remain steadfast and sincerely work for the party.
