•Says: Defection Of Opposition Party Members to APC, Good Omen
As more defectors have continued to troop into the ruling All Progressives Congress, in Imo State, a Party Chieftain and the South East National Vice Chairman of the APC, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu has lauded the move and described it as evidence of good governance.
He made this statement in an interview with Newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital,recently.
Dr. Arodiogbu opined that Governor Hope Uzodimma’s sterling leadership in the affairs of Imo State since assumption of office in January 2020 has been remarkably top notch.
The erstwhile Political icon added that what is currently experienced in Imo State with reference to the massive defections of members of other political parties into APC is evidence of the transformation, and people oriented policies of Governor Hope Uzodinma.
It would be recalled that there have been mass exodus from the opposition PDP, Labour Party and the the APGA in Imo State into APC.
This has continued for weeks. Over seven Exco members of the PDP led the move and were subsequently joined into APC by some ward Leaders.
The National Officer further added that if Governor Hope Uzodinma had been a stagnant Governor or know nothing about Governance and Administration, Imo people wouldn’t be enjoying the numerous administrative benefits.
Among the shortlisted achievements of the Hope Uzodimma’s administration in office in less than three and half years were the construction of major roads across the State viz; the Owerri-Orlu, Owerri-Okigwe, Owerri-Umuahia roads.
Other rural and inland roads construction in all the 27 Local Government Areas of the State.
The State Civil Service Reform, prompt payment of salaries and pensions were other pointers of the good administration enshrined in the APC Change mantra which Governor Uzodimma was commended for living above expectations.
Again, the Oru East born Governor was thumbed up for effecting quality education, health care delivery, and human capital development.
Dr. Arodiogbu maintained that for a Governor with the Masses’ interest at heart, Uzodimma neither allowed the insecurity challenges to dissuade him nor played politics with Imo State development.
Continuing, Arodiogbu hinted that Uzodimma’s genuine love for humanity and resilience in serving the People cannot be overemphasized.
“Imo people have lived to behold successive governments and I believe they have seen the difference. APC in Imo State through our God given Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma has changed the narratives and People’s perceptions about Governance, a reason for this total turn around and influx of Decampees to the largest party in Africa, the APC”, said Arodiogbu.
Furthermore, he charged the new entrants to seize the opportunity in working for the progress of the Party, especially towards the re-election of Governor Hope Uzodinma in November 11, 2023 Imo State governorship polls.
Imolites at home and in the Diaspora were also charged to reciprocate the governor’s good gestures by making sure they send other political parties to the abyss by drumming support and voting for Uzodimma come November guber election.
In a welcome note, the academic Arodiogbu enthused,”I heartily welcome my beloved brothers and sisters who have finally seen the light at the end by joining the biggest party, APC. It shows that APC in the State, the South East and in Nigeria is on good course.
“I believe your joining the Party will help to booster the conviviality that had existed among party men and women. We have the mandate of disseminating the good news of RENEWED HOPE to every doorstep in Imo. Onwa Oyoko is a team Player, he has served the State optimally, we need to send him back to Douglas House to continue the good work. A gold fish has no hiding place.
“Among all these men jostling to govern Imo, they don’t have the Leadership charisma and the vision. His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma has all it takes to do more. Together, we can”, Arodiogbu expressed optimism.
