The Imo State chapter of Labour Party LP, on Thursday, June 15, 2023, officially flagged off campaign for the forthcoming Imo State governorship election scheduled to hold on November 11, 2023.
The event took place at the Labour Party office along Wetheral Road, Owerri.
The State Chairman of the Party Barr. Calistus Ihejiagwa received the Director General of Athan Achonu Campaign Organization, Engr Chime Nzeribe, the South East Zonal Vice Chairman of the Party, Chief Innocent Okeke, the National Chairman of Labour Party, Barr. Julius Abure, and other stakeholders of the Labour Party. Barr. Ihejiagwa noted that there is an inseperable marriage and togetherness between the leadership of Labour Party and the Campaign Organization.
Speaking, the Director General, Athan Achonu Campaign Organization, Engr Chime Nzeribe noted that the campaign will start with prayer sessions in churches in the state adding that the prayer sessions will not only be for violence free campaign and election but for the repose of the souls of the victims of violence in the state. He also said that Labour Party Presidential petition will be included in the prayer for justice to prevail.
Engr Nzeribe maintained that Labour Party has only one governorship candidate in the state in the person of Senator Athan Achonu. He assured the people that victory is on the way and urged party faithful and supporters to be firm and resolute.
