-Owerri communities spoil for war
Agitation is again brewing over proposal of the Imo State government to allocate land to interested persons.
A recent release from the office of the Commissioner for lands stated that interested persons should pay a non refundable fee of #200,000.00 to #5OO,0OO.00 depending on the location.
Some stakeholders from Owerri communities said that even though the governor is aware of cases in court he is going ahead with his proposals and has no recourse to the cases in court, adding that the governor has begun what Governor Rochas Okorocha did when held sway that made his government unpopular.
When contacted,one of the foremost leaders of Owerri communities, Bob Njemanze confirmed that some of the cases have not been dispensed and said he is hopeful that the governor will listen to the cries of these communities.
Already the people of Owerri are spoiling for war over their ancestral lands for development of the state. some stakeholders in Owerri community also stated that, Gov being aware of the cases in court is going ahead without recourse to the extend that the matter has gone adding that the Gov has began what Okorocha did when he did not reference to the cases in court.
