Orlu State Constituency:Nwadike Secures Court Order To Inspect Election Material
Following the rape of democracy in Imo state which saw APC claiming all the House of Assembly positions in the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo state, the Candidate of Labour Party for Orlu State Constituency, Comrade Precious Nwadike has not only applied to have the declaration of the APC candidate, Barr Ikenna Ihezuo winnethe election reviewed, he also approached the election tribunal sitting in Owerri through an exparte motion to allow him inspect all the materials used in the conduct of the said election.
Nwadike through his Lawyer, Barr G.C. Opara in Suit Number; EPT/IM/M17/2023 moved the motion on Saturday, March 18, 2023 and it was granted.
The court ordered INEC to ensure that all materials used for the conduct of election in Orlu LGA be made available to the Labour Party candidate without delay.
With this development, Nwadike’s legal team and campaign organization are now at will to inspect the materials used for the purpose of the said election even as is been speculated in different quarters that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo State, Prof Sylvia Agu is working hard with the APC government to perfect the fraud they perpetrated during the elections to give credibility to the exercise which has been roundly condemned by Imolites.
Investigation revealed that the wards in Orsu clan of Orlu LGA where elections did not take place, APC compromised the electoral officer(EO), one Mr Blessing who we gathered was given an undisclosed huge sum of money to generate results for those areas without using Bia-modal Voters Accreditation System, BIVAS.
INEC had declared Barr Ikenna Ihezuo winner despite stiff opposition by the electorate and other parties on the grounds that APC didn’t win the election in Orlu.
Comrade Precious Nwadike, in a chat with this reporter,said he owes Orlu people the duty of reclaiming the mandate they freely gave to him. He regretted that those who perpetrated such monumental fraud and rape of democracy could be going about claiming victory when they know they only perpetrated fraud.
He called on Orlu people to remain resolute, adding that his emergence through lawful means will eventually put smiles on the faces of Orlu people who have been through alot.
