· Commends Uzodinma on massive Infrastructure
Igbo peace Ambassadors, a socio-political organization has called on the opposition leaders in the state to join hands with the state government in addressing the pockets of insecurity in the state, rather than politicizing it.
The Coordinator of the group, Hon Uju Okoro, a former Chairman of Isu Local Government Area stated this in a release he signed and made available to Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper.
He expressed dismay that despite the excellent performance of the Governor Uzodinma since he assumed office, the opposition leaders are busy trying to portray the administration in bad light to score cheap political points.
Uju Okoro recalled that prior to this time, “we all knew what the security situation in Orlu and environ was. It is on record that people were randomly beheaded as they could not sleep with their two eyes closed. But today, the story has changed for good. But instead of the opposition leaders to commend and encourage the Governor to do more, they are busy raising dust and playing the blame game.
“As a group comprising patriotic and progressive democrats, we would not fold our hands and watch members of the opposition misinform Imo people who know the truth.”
Hon Uju Okoro said, “the opposition leaders in Imo state and their gullible agents of confusion should hide their faces in shame because most of the problems Imo people are suffering today were created by them and their cohorts.”
He scored the Hope Uzodinma 3R administration high, stressing that with the Governor’s proactive action and passionate commitment towards addressing the menace, very soon insecurity and attendant vices will be nipped in the bud.
Uju Okoro further stated that, “on the issue of infrastructure, it is on record that the Uzodinma administration has shamed his detractors who lack the courage to publicly congratulate him for his giant developmental strides.
“For instance, the Owerri Orlu road that used to be a motorists’ night mare, is now less than 30 minutes drive from Owerri. Same with the Owerri-Okigwe road, among others. The Governor as a liberal and accommodating person has also spread his infratural development largesse to Mbaise, Ngor Okpalla etc.”
He enjoined Imo people at home and in the Diaspora to continue supporting the Hope Uzodinma administration to enable it do more. “Besides, the reward for good work, is more work”,he said.
