As the behind the scene moves by aspirants to outsmart each other in the race for the Owerri Federal Constituency Seat, come 2023, Sir Tochukwu Okere, (Toska) a frontline aspirant on the platform of All Progressive Congress has expressed his desire to offer quality, effective and result-oriented representation to the people if given the opportunity to represent them at the Federal House of Representatives in the next dispensation.
Sir Okere stated this while interacting with journalists at his Amaorie, Obibiezena, Owerri North LGA residence recently after a crucial meeting of his campaign structure led by Prof Anthony Oha.
The youthful businessman noted the Owerri Federal constituency seat will no longer be an all comers affair, stressing that there is need for the best candidate who has what it takes to represent the people at the lower chamber of the national assembly in the interest of the constituents.
He maintained that Owerri federal constituency, comprising Owerri Municipal Council, Owerri North and Owerri West local government areas would no longer mortgage the interest of the people on the altar of sentiments and mediocrity, pointing out that, “the present day responsibilities of the house have gone beyond making of laws alone for the conduct of policy and affairs of the nation.’
“In determining who represents us at the hallowed chamber, we must put into consideration the person’s personality, intellectual capacity, academic prowess and contribution to the enhanced welfare of the people.”
The business mogul added that Owerri Federal Constituency needs a legislator with political clout, wherewithal and reach so as to attract meaningful development to the people.
Sir Okere stated that Owerri Federal Constituency is heading to greatness and he cannot do it without the mandate, of the people, hence the need to give him the required support because it is not doubtful that he is the answer to the effective, pragmatic and credible representation of Owerri federal constituency of our collective dream.
He however assured the people that he will be a strong and vocal voice at the national assembly and ensure that the dividends of democracy will not elude the people. He promised that he will initiate people oriented policies through motions and bills that will improve the welfare of the people of Owerri Federal Constituency and the nation at large.
