Tochukwu Okere, President General of Obibiezena Development Union in Owerri North Local Government Area has picked the nomination form for the Owerri Federal constituency seat on the platform of All Progressive Congress for the 2023 election. This has elicited amidst jubilation among youths of his community who have expressed their unalloyed support and solidarity.
The youths who expressed confidence in the capacity and ability of the former banker and business mogul to offer quality representation, accompanied him to the APC secretariat where he bought the nomination and declaration of interest forms.
Addressing journalists at the APC National Secretariat Abuja recently, Tochukwu Okere who was duly elected by the community and also appointed by the government, as the President General of Obibiezena autonomous community noted that the race for the Owerri Federal Constituency Seat, come 2023 has just begun, stressing that his purchase of the nomination and expression of interest forms will herald a new dawn that will change the narrative as regards quality and effective representation of the component constituencies that make up the federal constituency.
He assured the people that his declaration of interest for the race has charged and heightened the tempo of the race.
The businessman noted that his aspiration is to address the issue of youth marginalization because as a youth, he understands the plight of the young generation adding that his representation will build synergy between the youths and the government at all levels in other to address the issue of youth representation in governance.
He opined that great nations are keying into the emergence of young leaders and Nigeria is not going to be an exception pointing out that Owerri Federal Constituency will set the pace for others to follow.
speaking, the Director General, Tochukwu Okere campaign organization, Prof. Anthony Oha stated that Tochukwu Okere has the prowess, intellectual and political sagacity to offer quality representation toOwerri people.
Prof Oha expressed optimism that Sir Okere will change the narrative of representation to a new order that will be the envy of other federal constituencies.
The academic noted that the representation of Owerri Federal Constituency will no longer be business as usual where representatives amass the collective wealth and resources of the people to enrich themselves.
