· PDP Owerri Zonal chairman fingered
Olu Owerri, the apex socio-cultural organization of the nine local government areas in Owerri zone has condemned in very strong terms what it referred to “as the physical attack and assault of her National Youth Leader, Engr Samuel Nwokeocha by thugs who were allegedly sponsored and instructed by Barr Uche Igbokwe, chairman of PDP in Owerri Zone.”
This was contained in a release issued by the President General of Olu Owerri, Chief Martin Opara and made available to the press.
The release also alleged that, “Barr Igbokwe was physically present and repeatedly instructed the thugs he hired to kill the innocent youth leader whose only offence was attending an event organized by the PDP where he incidentally is the local government Publicity Secretary.”
Chief Martin Opara further said, “the organization will respond appropriately if the PDP fails to bring Uche Igbokwe and all those responsible for the unprovoked attack to book.”
“The public is hereby alerted that the Owerri Zonal chairman of PDP, Barr Uche Igbokwe publicly instructed the thugs to kill their victim at the residence of a party leader, Chief Victor Assams in the presence of party members, the media, the LGA party chairman, Geoffrey Ihentuge standing with uttering a word or reprimanding the attackers as if they are above the law or would go free if anything untoward had a happened to Samuel Nwokeocha.”
He assured that the organization will follow up the matter which has formally been reported to the police, to a logical conclusion.
