The Attorney of FUTO host communities Chief Sam Anokam, a reputable Esate Surveyor has said that all kinds of intimidation, harassment and blackmail aimed at making him back out from the struggle to reclaim some of the communities’ lands from FUTO will not work.
He made this known in his office at Whetheral Road Owerri, the Imo State Capital on Tuesday, 29th March, 2022, where he categorically stated that no amount of blackmail or intimidation will ever make him to abandon the struggle to reclaim their land from FUTO.
Chief Anokam said that he has the mandate of the people to follow due process in this matter and FUTO has disappointed him and the host communities, even went as far as buying over some youths in the community to cause problem.
He accused some agents of the present state Government of supporting FUTO to cause trouble for the host communities.
The Attorney of the host communities added that he is not in the struggle for pecuniary interest, saying that he is fully committed to ensuring that their land that was forceful taken by FUTO is recovered.
According to him, “I don’t see anybody in FUTO who can buy me over or in the Federation”. I have worked so hard to get to the stage and level I am today. Infact, I am an accomplished man in life”. ESV Anokam submitted.
“He said that when FUTO noticed that they can’t stop him, they petitioned him to the national Assembly without disclosing the necessary information to them and I went with my people to meet the committee where I narrated everything to them”.
“I am a man that fights for justice and they know we are at the last battle of the struggle hence FUTO is doing everything possible to blackmail and put up a smear campaign against me which will not work.”
