The Nigeria Union of Journalists Imo State Council led by Comrade Precious Nwadike on Sunday, January 30, 2022 led a delegation to the country home of Aku Obidinma (Abdul) in Obazu Mbieri to condole with him on the death of his parents.
Nwadike in his speech at the bereaved family’s home, encouraged them not to loose hope but take solace in God believing that the vacuum which has been created would be filled by persons whom the lord shall send in due course.
He also reminded them that death is inevitable for all mortals. When it comes knocking, all we have to do is to embrace God and cling to him for both hope and succour.
He noted, that Comrade Aku Obidinma is a committed member of NUJ and as such, the union wouldn’t fail to identify with him at this trying time.
He prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
In his reaction, the eldest son of the family, Mr Michael Aku expressed satisfaction with the way the union identified with them at their most trying moment and thanked them for the visit.
He also extended appreciation to the entire Imo journalists for living above board in discharge of their duty as mirror of the society.
Aku Obinma in his speech thanked the Imo NUJ delegation for standing by him and promised to give them the situation report as the date of burial approaches.
