Music sensation, popularly called Fii3rd, Son of frontline politician and business mogul, Chief Felix Idiga also known as JAFAC is set to release another hit song titled ‘Son of Imo” today, January 28, 2022.
The trending music sensation who said he started his professional music career in 2017 in a chat with journalists said, “I was more in the Hip Hop rolling with a crew called Phyl Guyz. The first song I released with them was “So stressed” and “Gad Damn”. I later met Amaka Terry with who I started working on Afro R7B type of music.”
Throwing more light on his forthcoming album, Fii3rd also known as the Gbam Gbam crooner said, “Son of Imo’ is actually the name of the upcoming album that will be released on January 28, 2022.”I still go by the name Fii3rd. I chose ‘Son of Imo’ because I said, if the album reaches the heights I aspire to achieve, it would be great to shine a light on my lineage. It’s also the first of a trilogy album that highlights my life’s journey”.
“I can only hope that my music reaches as many ears and hearts as possible. I want my name to be up there with the greats. Nigeria has produced some of the most talented musicians the world has ever witnessed. I just hope to, one day, see my name up there with that of Fela, 2Baba, Burna Boy, Davido, Tiwa, Wiz. I believe my music is good enough to achieve that, so all I gotta do is really push as hard as I can, until I meet my goal.”
Speaking on what inspires him and whether or not he has arrived in the industry he said, “the people around me inspire me. It’s been great working with people like Bad, Chopper and other friends in the industry. It’s inspiring knowing we’re all walking the same lane and adding a little more to this genre of music – Nigerian music. We all want the world to hear the types of sounds we can produce in this country. It feels great being part of that.
“I don’t really like thinking about success in my music like that. I just want to make music that people would want to listen to everyday; songs they can depend on to get them through tough times and celebrate good ones. So long as I do that, I’ll continue to push myself and do my best to do it as often as my humanly body allows me to.” Responding to a question the talented music icon said, “this is the kind of music I’m supposed to make. I still make sure my style and delivery of my own though. It’s funny. There are at times people I’m making music with would tell me to try and say things a certain way, or change up the Flavour to be more like other artists, but I have no interest in that. I want my music to be authentic. I don’t want my sound to come off fraudulent. So when people hear my music, they know it’s all from the heart.”
“On which of the tracks in the album he considers best Fii3rd said, “That’s a tough one. I love each one differently. Some stand outs in the album for me would be ‘Amina’, ‘Wayo’, ‘Gbam Gbam’, ‘For the Money’ and ‘Get Down’. And of course, ‘JAFAC’ is a personal song dedicated to my family, both alive and gone, so that holds a very special spot in my heart.”
