“The removal of Senator Ifeanyi Ararume as Chairman, Board of NNPC has finally confirmed our allegation that Governor Hope Uzodinma is frustrating federal government appointments for illustrious and qualified sons of Imo State in a bid to score cheap political points at the expense of the collective interest of Imo people.
“It is an aberration that while we are lamenting the obvious marginalization of Ndigbo Governor Uzodinma and his supporters who should celebrate the success such appointments would herald go extra length and do all they can to scuttle it thereby making others beneficiaries of what rightfully belongs to our state.”
A group known as Imo Patriotic Youths,IPY stated this while reacting to the removal of Senator Ararume as chairman of the Board of NNPC and his subsequent replacement with Senator Magret Chuba Okadigbo from Anambra State.
National President of the group, Comrade Ifeanyi Agbodike stated this in an interview with Newsmen yesterday. The group posited that Senator Ararume’s removal from the plum office is a big loss to Imo State and her people who are underrepresented in terms of federal government appointments.
He condemned in very strong terms what he referred to as Governor Hope Uzodinma’s politics of vendetta which he said is not only archaic but runs foul of democratic principles, norms and international best practices.
He expressed regret that Barr Emma Nwosu who was also appointed a Commissioner incharge of South East in the Revenue Allocation, Mobilization and Fiscal Commission is yet to be inaugurated while his colleagues from other zones have long assumed office more than a year now simply because actors at Imo Government house don’t want him.
This, he said “is a matter of serious concern because it is the height of wickedness for a person who should champion the upward mobility of the state and her people to engage in such retrogressive actions, conduct and attitude allegedly exhibited by Governor Uzodinma and his cohorts.
