The Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma yesterday December 20, sworn in the eighteen newly appointed commissioners who were screened by the Imo State House of Assembly at the newly renovated government house exco chambers and at the same time allotted them with their portfolios.
The new Commissioners and their Portfolios include; Prof. Sylverster Ifunanya Okorondu. Education, Dr. Prosper Ohayagha Success Obinna. Health, Prof. EJC Duru: Environment, Dr. Anthony Christian Mgbeahuruike: Livestock, Hon. Simon Ebegbulem: Commerce & Industry, Barr. Rex Anunobi, Transport.
Other are Lady Dr. Love Ineh: Housing, Hon. Mrs. Ruby Emele: Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs., Barr. Kezie Ogaziechi: Lands, and Survey, Chief Dr. Okey Anukwuem: Special Duties, and Prince Ford Ozumba: Labour /Productivity with Lady Ann Dozie: Power/Water Resources.
The rest are Rt. Hon. Goodluck Opiah: Petroleum, Dr. Elias Emedom: Mines/ Solid Minerals., Dr. Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji: Homeland Security / Vigilante Affairs., Hon. Stanley C Obidiegwu: Special Projects and Dr. Berth Okorochukwu: Agriculture, with Hajia Rabbi Ibrahim, incharge of Humanitarian Affairs.
However, there tends to be mixed reaction on reappointment of Barr Rex Anunobi into same position where he was alleged to have been involved in so many sharp practices which led to his arrest and that of other staff of Imo civil guards.
As earlier published the matter is before a magistrate court in Owerri.
Many wonder why he should be appointed into the same position instead of deploying him to another ministry.
