The former Special Assistant to Imo State Government, Aic Akwarandu, has said that Ihedioha won the 2019 elections in Imo convincingly, noting that those claiming otherwise are not in tone with the realities on ground.
Akwarandu who spoke while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the State Capital, noted that even “the animals in Imo bushes are aware that the human beings in Imo overwhelmingly voted for Ihedioha”. He added that those against it are agents of darkness who are looking for shortcuts to gain legitimacy.
He also stated that the presence of Governor Hope Uzodinma in Anambra State caused a big minus to both the party and its candidate in the last concluded elections. “You can’t use a man with a sad electoral history as your chairman and expect people to trust you. Anambra is close to Imo, they are aware that the man in charge is not who Imo people voted. So they can’t trust him to give them a quality leadership”, He added.
On what has kept Ihedioha going, Akwarandu averred, “Ihedioha is a product of grace. God has blessed him from a very young age and He is contented with what he has. His integrity and firm belief in due process are among his major sailing points. I am aware Ndi Imo have Ihedioha in their conscience and will always entrust him with leadership positions”.
