A formidable group in Imo state, known as Imo State Good Governance Team, IGGT has called on the governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma to borrow a leaf from Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha by congratulating Senator Ifeanyi Araraume who was recently appointed Chairman, of NNPC board.
The former governor of Imo state, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha had in the midst of controversy that trailed nomination of Senator Samuel Anyanwu as consensus candidate for the position of National Secretary of PDP came out publicly to declare his support for Anyanwu and called on all his loyalists to do so during the forthcoming convention.
The group which spoke through it’s National Publicity secretary, Chief Chukwuemeka Alozie in Owerri yesterday said that the inability of senator Uzodinma to place the welfare and development of Imo people above partisan politics has cost the state so much.
Alozie urged Uzodinma to drop his ego and support Araraume, same way Ihedioha who was said to be having fuss with senator Anyanwu reconciled and endorsed Samdady’s nomination for National Secretary of PDP against all odds.
He added that Ihedioha won the heart of his group by this singular decision which he did to benefit the entire Imo People.”Come to think of it, if Senator Samuel Anyanwu does not emerge, another state will claim the position and present one of theirs to occupy it. We are proud of Ihedioha. He has distinguished himself from other greedy politicians who will prefer to frustrate others as long as their candidate does not emerge”, he stated.
The group which claimed to have been supporting Uzodinma vowed to withdraw their support if he continues to fight Imo sons and daughters nominated for federal appointments, saying that any effort to stop Senator Araraume is an effort to throw spanner in the wheel of development of Imo state which is unacceptable to them.
IGGT said, they have monitored unfolding events surrounding appointment of Barr Emma Nwosu as South East representative of Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Allocation Commission, RMFAC and the delay in confirming him by the senate and has come to the conclusion that the Imo State government has a hand in the delay.”How else do you explain a situation where other commissioners appointed the same time have been inaugurated, yet our own person is being dribbled for no justifiable reason(s) and senator Uzodinma has kept quiet in the face of all this”, the group queried.
