· Says opposition responsible for problems in the state
The Imo state government has lambasted the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party which it accused of peddling falsehood to deceive the people and also being responsible for the problems being faced in the state and citizens.
The Commissioner for Information, Declan Emeluba stated this while reacting to the clip of a recent interview granted by the PDP New media team while featuring on Osiza FM radio programme and circulated on the social media.
The embattled and controversial Commissioner, Emelumba, who has been accused by different segments of the society of demarketing the governor and the state government stated that though, most of the problems presently confronting the state, were created by the PDP that was power for 13 years, the Hope Uzodinma administration has relentlessly addressed them and is gradually restoring the lost glory of the state.
He noted that it was the height of ill-intentioned propaganda for the PDP to claim that Imo has the worst road network based on bogus, and unverified report of an –on-line publication when it is on record that the Uzodinma administration has constructed 46 roads and still counting.
He also debunked the allegation by the PDP that the state government does not have nephrologists in cardiologists its employment.
According to him “the truth is that the state government has a Cardiologist, Dr. Angela Mbakama, a Nephrologists, Dr Anyabuolu and a Pathologist, Dr. Nweke, all at Imo state University teaching hospital (IMSUT), among others. ” So it amounts to infantile mischief for anyone to jump on the microphone to claim that the state has none of these” , the commissioner declared
” While Government does not inflict diseases on people, let me make it abundantly clear that we have those specialists at Imo state University teaching hospital,Orlu.”
Emelumba, regretted that the PDP was relying on questionable stastics to claim that Imo has the highest unemployment rate in the county, pointing out that, it is not just about stastics and figures but about the authenticity of the figures. “We don’t know where they got the figures they are brandishing. What is obvious is that Governor Hope Uzodinma has spent N8bn to empower thousand of youths to be self employed and self reliant.”
“He said the PDP had thought that their antics of contriving security crisis in the state will slow the Governor down, but are now disappointed that the state had made progress beyond their imagination.
The commissioner said only a party suffering from infantile idiocy or delusion of the highest order would be ignorant of the giant strides made by the APC government in Imo in the last 18 months.”
