The chairman Nigeria Association Of Women Journalists,NAWOJ Imo state chapter Barr.Vivian Ottih on Wednesday the 18th August in the NAWOJ congress held at the NUJ Secretariat, Port Harcourt road stated that her regime would be one devoid of rancour and bickering as well as uphold the standards of which NAWOJ was established.
Barr. Ottih stated emphatically ,that the Association which is strictly for qualified Female Journalists would stop at nothing in ensuring that sanity is restored to enable the members of the Association to carry out their assignments diligently.
Continuing, she made it known that she’s not out to witch-hunt nor victimize anyone but rather to serve the people to the best of her ability. She therefore enjoined all that believe in her course and dream to join her by supporting her to achieve this dream.
In her words”I am a servant of this great association and as such,I would not relent in doing anything humanly possible towards ensuring that this association progresses far above it’s present state.”
“I advice that all persons who are in one way or the other igniting fire into the peace of the Association to cease henceforth stressing that God has taken charge. All I want is a new NAWOJ, A transformed NAWOJ that would be recognized and appreciated for their painstaking efforts in society and the country at large.”
Highlights of the meeting was a bye election for some vacant executive positions to enable the Association meet up with its expected goals.
