v Accuse hotel management of foul play
By Martin Nwoko
The family of late Mr. Chinonso Emmanuel Obasi who was until his death a staff of Degio Hotel and Suits located at Km 2 Naze Aba road has demanded Justice over the sudden death of their son who was employed barely 2 weeks ago by the hotel.
The deceased was a graduate of Quantity Survey from the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede Owerri.
A family source disclosed that late Chinonso Obasi was full of life devoid of any known illness and wondered what actually happened to their son that resulted in his sudden death.
The source demanded that justice must prevail to unravel the cause of their sons death barely 2 weeks after resuming work with the hotel.
Speaking further, he questioned why the establishment quickly deposited the corpse of their late son in morgue without contacting any member of his family or relatives thereby suspecting foul play on the part of the hotel.
The hotel management in their defense, alleged that late Chinonso was electrocuted by iron rails while on night shift on Sunday, July 18, 2021 and many are finding it difficult to understand how iron rails which serve as support for people climbing the stairs in a new hotel, could electrocute the young graduate.
It was gathered that the hotel was cordoned off on Monday, July 19 by security operatives after the family of the deceased reported the matter to them.
When contacted, the spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, CSP Mike Abatam confirmed the incident, adding that full scale investigation has commenced with a view to unraveling the cause of the death of late Chinonso Obasi who hails from Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
