Traditional Rulers in Imo State at the behest of HRM Eze (Dr) E.C. Okeke, who doubles as Chairman of Traditional Rulers and Community Policing in Imo State are not in a frame of mind to view lightly of let rest a palpably skewed Editorial of THE STATESMAN Newspaper, Wednesday June 23rd, 2021, page 13. Captioned: “Traditional Rulers and Community Policing” which accused Traditional Rulers of not being proactive in their call to service.
In a release signed by Prince George Egwuatu, Special Adviser to the Chairman of Imo State Traditional Institution and Community Policing, Eze Okeke, which copy was made available to Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, it further said,“Hopes were high even as people expressed confidence the Traditional Institution to get to the root of causes of insecurity and crime. Surprisingly, the evil has persisted and there seems to be more danger than before”, the Editor noted.
The Editorial, the Traditional Rulers said, is in bad faith arising from professional misconduct on the part of Editor who failed to liase or consult with the constituted authority before rushing to the Press.

Finally, they have given the Editor an ultimatum to apologise, retract and put in correct perspective the said editorial within a week or be met at every turn as required by the ethics of Journalism.
