The Imo State Executive Secretary, Dr (Mrs) Adaugo Nwanebo on Tuesday flagged off what she described as “Operation show your tool”.
According to the ES, the program,”Operation show your tools” is an exercise to checkmate administration, teaching and learning activities in Imo secondary schools.
The latest program is among the numerous well-thought programs of the Executive Secretary,Nwanebo since she assumed office, all designed to reposition the secondary school system in Imo state.
Speaking during a meeting with principals on Tuesday, she said, “Teachers are expected to present a good lesson note base on the 21st-century format. Failure should attract query.
“Where there are no materials for practical, let improvisation take the lead.Principals should enumerate disciplinary measures on erring students and staff.From the above stipulation.
Prizes await the best teacher, student and the administrator”.
Speaking with some principals who pleaded anonymity, they averred that the program has challenged them to seat up, unlike before when activities of principals were not monitored to ensure efficiency in inline with the generally accepted standard.
They vowed to support the ES to succeed and commeded her for the intiative.” No doubt some lazy principals may not be comfortable with the idea but majority of us consider it as best for the state as it will help in upgrading the standard of teaching and learning in Imo state”,said a senior principal.
