The Apex leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Naze Ward in Owerri North Local Government Area of lmo State, Engr Benco Nzerem, earlier this week, formally received one of the illustrious sons of the area, Chief Chibuike Akujobi and others into the APC fold, with a resolve to make the entire Naze community collapses into one party.
It was reported that the Naze APC Apex leader, Engr Benco Nzerem was supported at the ceremony held at the Umuorie country home of the new APC entrant, Chief Akujobi,by other party stalwarts among whom are, the lnterim Management Committee (lMC) member representing Naze Ward in Owerri North LGA, Chief Lambert Nze.Also in attendance were other party stalwarts, Pastor Chijioke Udeh, Mr Chukwudi Onuh, Surveyor Chris Madu, Owerri North APC women leader Mrs Franca Osuji, Lady Oleru, Youth leader, Mr Tochi Nzerem.Others were, the entire APC Excos, ward chapter leaders and the entire APC stakeholders among others.
Speaking at the colourful event, the Naze APC Apex leader, Engr Benco Nzerem described the new entrant, Chief Chibuike Akujobi as an illustrious son of the area, whose entry was a good omen for the party.He noted that members of the APC in Naze ward were happy to formally have the new entrant in their fold, adding that the young Akujobi’s entrance would herald reception of more Naze sons into the party in due course.Engr Nzerem averred that other political parties have been collapsed into APC in the area, asserting that Naze ward remains one united and happy family. He assured of a better APC in the area, even as he enjoined the party’s leadership to do well to be on the same page to enable the party achieve its set goals for the interest of the entire Naze people.
The party’s Apex leader who guided the new entrant Chibuike Akujobi at the event to put pen on paper for his membership registration, later handed the latter the party’s symbol, (the broom), according to Engr Nzerem, as a mark of his (Chief Akujobi’s) acceptance to the Naze APC, while assuring him of the rights and privileges from the party.
In his speech, the IMC member for Naze ward, Chief Lambert Nze, expressed delight over the successful entrance of Chief Chibuike Akujobi to the party, maintaining that the latter’s entry would help to solidify the party’s stronghold in the area, describing the new entrant as a core grassroots man who has a lot to contribute for the growth of the party.He enjoined the leadership of the party to close ranks to ensure APC is on one page to achieve a lot for the people.
Responding, the host and the Naze APC new entrant, Chief Chibuike Akujobi declared that his reasons for joining the party was to get himself fully involved in the political activities through APC, which he said will help foster development, good governance in the State and the Ward in particular.He said the forum offered him opportunity to formalize his membership in APC as well as carry out some empowerment programme especially to the youths among other members of the communities in Naze.
Akujobi who is the president, Chibuike Akujobi Foundation (CAF), stressed the need for the entire party leadership and membership to come together and avoid any differences to enable them achieve greater things for the people.He promised to use his contact and goodwill to take Naze APC to greater heights, while appealing to leaders of the party to set aside their selfish interests to pursue a common course for the Naze APC, according to him, to avoid missing good opportunities that the present administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma and beyond would offer them.
Highlight of the occasion was issuance of party membership card and APC symbol ( broom) as a mark of acceptance by the Naze ward APC Apex leader, Engr Benco Nzerem to the new entrant, Chief Chibuike Akujobi and other new entrants supported by the enlarged party leadership and faithful.
