The new Majority Leader of the Imo State House of Assembly and member representing Owerri West state Constituency, Hon. Dele Kanayo Onyemaechi who officially resumed duty on Tuesday March 9, 2021 after the former Majority Leader of the house,Hon. Uche Ogbuagu was removed from office has promised to bring his 9 years experience at the National Assembly to bear in his new assignment.
Addressing newsmen in his office, Hon. Onyemaechi described what played out at the House “as no victor no vanquished and called on all members of the house to work in unity for the good of Imo people who they represent.
He also stated that as silent achiever he will focus on what will move the 9th house forward. The new Majority Leader also promised to carry everybody along in the scheme of things and not to witch-hunt anyone. Hon. Onyemaechi maintained his emergence as the new Majority Leader of the house could be described as an act of God stressing that all elected house members have same equal rights and that any of them can become a leader at any point in time.
Speaking further, Hon. Onyemaechi assured his constituents of more dividend, revealing that during the 2019 general election he emerged as a consensus candidate even when others were still struggling to get tickets from their parties. He stressed that Owerri West LGA people went agog when he was announced as the new Majority Leader of the Assembly because they sent their best to the legislature.
He promised to attract more projects to his people of Owerri West LGA using his good office and will also ensure they experience good governance as being championed by the present administration of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma in line with his shared prosperity mantra.
