An Owerri based pro-education development and advocacy group “ CHUKSY FOUNDATION” as part of the 4th anniversary of its operation in the state recently presented Excellent Merit Award to the former Governor of Imo State Senator Rochas Okorocha and the Publisher of Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, Comrade Precious Nwadike for their magnanimous and enviable contributions to the development of education in Nigeria at large and Imo state in particular.

Speaking to our reporter after making the presentation to the duo, the founder of the non-governmental organization, Comrade Chukwuma Ogochukwu observed that Senator Okorocha had done so much in the past to ensure that most Nigerian children despite their social status acquired basic education while Comrade Nwadike has championed the campaign and advocacy for free basic education for every child in the past six years.
Comrade Ogochukwu who disclosed that membership of his organization comprises graduates and under graduates of tertiary institutions, students of colleges and secondary schools as well as lovers of education said that the foundation since its inception in 2016 had been on the campaign to reawaken interest in education among Imo Youths, who seem to be losing interest in the academic pursuit and focus attention on money.

He said his group was motivated by outstanding devotion and dedication to the encouragement and empowerment of helpless students exhibited by Comrade Nwadike and Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Receiving the award in his office, the newspaper publisher and rights activist who expressed gratitude to the foundation disclosed that he is an advocate of qualitative and affordable education at all levels for all Imo children, adding that with the huge amount allocated to education annually, if properly managed every Nigerian child should acquire adequate education without the stress students go through these days.
The Chuksy foundation that has been on campaign to emphasize cult free societies in our schools and communities with the theme “ DANGERS OF FRATERNITIES” hopes to embark on quiz competitions among schools this academic year.
Speaking further to our reporter, the chairman said, the idea behind CHUKSY FOUNDATION started months before CHUKSY FOUNDATION was attached to it as a name. The acronym CHUKSY means … Choose Understanding and Knowledge with sincerity
‘I started with the dream of organizing quiz competitions, seminars, contributing to educational pursuit of pupils financially. This dream I turned into reality months before attaching a name to my dream and creating the foundation’.
As time progressed other great concepts like training students in skills acquisition, modeling and creative writing were also fully and properly attached to the vision of the foundation and this is basically for students’.
CHUKSY FOUNDATION has gone to different schools for seminars with the topic ‘DANGERS IN CONFRATANITIES’.
Much of the other plans have not yet been fully activated yet because of lack of sponsorship. Not having much financially and having few members that understand the dream and are willing to work.
I can also proudly share that CHUKSY FOUNDATION has been able to help out in it’s small way… such as… paying the school fees of a child who was asked to go home During exams in 2017…. Paying the jamb fee of three students in 2019.
There are alot more things to be said”, he added.
