The Association of Catholic Medical Practitioners of Nigeria ACMPN, has expressed delight at the release of the Auxiliary Bishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese, His Lordship Moses Chikwe by kidnappers, stating that no amount of intimidation, harassment or arm-twisting will cow them or douse the church’s opposition to the VAPP Bill.
This was contained in a release signed by Prof Philip Njemanze, a member of the Board of Trustees of the association and Imo State Coordinator of Pro-Life Movement.
According to the release, “the glory of God on His Church has shown that the church can’t be intimidated by a group of abortionists seeking to silence it from condemning their evil laws. The kidnap of Bishop Chikwe shows that they want to use deception of the VAPP law to kidnap all Imo citizens into perpetual slavery. The distinguished cleric guided by the doctrines of the Catholic Church, with the support of the Religious, Church Militants and Holy Saints stood in strong opposition of the obnoxious law. God has shown mercy to the Church and we rejoice with the church Triumphant. We will never relent in our fight for life and against the satanic VAPP Law and the international and local sponsors of Anti Life”.
He called on all federal and state legislatures in the country to jettison the VAPP law and commended the Nigeria Police and other security agencies in the country for doing a good job. He urged them to beef up investigation to unveil the perpetrators and sponsors of the evil act.
