The Chaplain of Imo State Government House, Rev. Msgr. Raph Madu is dead.
Late Rev. Msgr. Raph Madu who celebrated his 37th year ordination anniversary and dedicated service in God’s vine yard, was Secretary General of the Catholic Secretariat, Abuja before he became Chaplain of Imo State Government House.
Reacting to his death, the governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma said, “the death of Rev. Msgr. Raph Madu is a sad development for the government of Imo State, the Catholic Community and particularly the Owerri Catholic Archdiocese. He was a thoroughbred cleric whose fidelity to God’s work was unflinching. He lived his life drawing people to God and enriching minds with the gospel of Christ.
“We will miss him sorely. May his soul and all the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace Amen”.
There are speculation among appointees of the government that the Cleric may have died of Covid-19.”He officiated mass on Friday, during the Arm forces remembrance day and was in good health.We suspect he may have died of the dreaded covid-19″, a government house source hinted.
When contacted, the commissioner for information, Hon Declan Emelumba confirmed the death of Madu but said he is unaware of cause of death.
