As stipulated in the electoral guideline release by Independent National Electoral Commssion on Imo North, that campaign would end yesterday, both Senator Araraume,Mr Frank Ibezim and other candidates were yesterday seen at different locations campaigning.
While senator Araraume campaign team were made up of mainly the APC party faithful which included ex-governor Rochas Okorocha’s supporters and members of destiny organisation, Senator Hope Uzodinma and his cabinet members campaigned with Ibezim and lawmakers from Okigwe zone, were not left out as they were also led by the speaker, Rt.Hon Paul Emeziem.
For the duo of Araraume and Ibezim, since the matter is still in court, even though Senator Araraume by virtue of having his name in INEC as authentic candidate of the party, has an upper hand, the governor and those in the same line of thought believe that appeal court will upturn the lower court judgement to pave way for Ibezim, hence their reason for campaigning for APC.
Meanwhile, Independent National Electoral Commssion(INEC) has said that it is ready for tomorrow’a election.
In a release signed by Prof. Francis Ezeonu, Resident Electoral Commissioner,INEC Imo made public phone numbers of it’s staff for easy communication and to keep in touch with the commission.
The release reads in part,” The Independent National Electoral Commission, Imo state hereby announce the following Situation Room INEC Contact Lines, this is in respect of the Okigwe North Senatorial bye election coming up on Saturday 5th December 2020
