The remains of late Chief Edwin O Iheanacho (Okuenyeremba Na Orlu ), APC candidate for Orlu, Oru-East and Orsu Federal Constituency in the 2019 general election who died on June 15, 2020 after a brief illness, will on December 30, 2020 be laid to rest at his country home, in Umuafor, Orlu Community in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to a release signed by Hon Chief Hilary Agim Iheanacho,Ph.D,on behalf of the family, the requiem church service will hold at Holy Trinity Catholic Cathedral, Orlu by 11am while entertainment will hold at the Iheanacho’s compound.
The release stated that preceding the funeral church service, is the wake-keep which will be at the deceased home on the 29th of December while an outing Church service will take place on the 3rd of January, 2021, at the Catholic Cathedral, Orlu.
It would be recalled that late Iheanacho contested the 2019 House of Representatives election for Oru-East, Orsu and Orlu Federal Constituency. He was reported and generally acknowledged to have been cruising home to victory when INEC suddenly declared his opponent of PDP as the winner whereas collation was still ongoing. Thereafter, Iheanacho went to court and the court nullified the election ordering for a fresh election in the affected areas. The rest is now history.
