v Assures kinsmen of dividends of democracy
The Imo State Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu yesterday 21st September, 2020, received in audience Community leaders of Amaofuo Autonomous Community in his office at the State Secretariat, Owerri. They were led by the traditional ruler HRM Eze Prof. Peter Ebigbo.
The visit according to traditional ruler, HRM Eze Prof. Peter Ebigbo was to formally bring to the notice the State Government the impassable state of Amaofuo-Ubulu-Nnempi road.
Ebigbo noted that the road is the only one linking his Community and other towns and villages in Oru West Local Government, adding that they now ply ULI road since they share common boundary with Anambra State.
He also stressed that successive administrations in the state have not been fair to Amaofuo Community especially in the area of road construction despite numerous appeals entreaties, representations and support. He called on the Governor to salvage the sufferings of his people by giving the road a redefined facelift that will write his name in gold for posterity.
Eze Ebigbo used the opportunity to eulogize the Governor Hope Uzodinma for finding one of their own worthy to serve in his cabinet, in the person of Ralph Nwosu and also urged the Works Commissioner to remain steadfast in the discharge of his duties as he drives the state forward with laudable and quality roads construction and rehabilitation projects.
A former council Boss of Oru-West Local Government Area, Hon. Chinedu Ononikpo in his contribution applauded the achievements of the present administration in the state and maintained that the developmental strides of the Shared Prosperity Government should be extended to Amaofuo-Ubulu-Nnempi Road,arguing that the people are in dire need of motorable road in order to evacuate their agricultural products, from the linter lands to the markets.
Responding, the Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu thanked them for the visit and assured them that Government will look into their appeal and appropriate recommendation will be made for immediate actions.
He also reiterated the holistic commitment of Senator Hope Uzodinma’s administration in ensuring people oriented leadership driven and anchored on Reconstruction Rehabilitation and Recovery of the State for optimal service delivery to Ndi-Imo.
The Commissioner stated that critical rural roads in the state will in no distant time get attention from the state Government and other interventionist agencies such as Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Rural Access Mobility Projects (RAMP).
In a closing remark, Mrs Jacinta Mbaekulie and Ichie Alex Nnadikwe in their separate speeches, thanked the Commissioner for his warm reception to them and prayed God to continually guide and guard him in his onerous task for the State.
