Frontline contender for Okigwe Zone Senate seat, Rt Hon (Dr) Acho Ihim, also the Speaker emeritus, Imo State House of Assembly (IMHA) has extended a brotherly hand of fellowship and partnership to political appointees from the zone, who are serving in Governor Hope Uzodinma’s shared prosperity administration.
Addressing the group at the official residence of Hon Dan Chike Ogu, the Honourable Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Social Development, Ihim thanked them for obliging him audience. He described them as assemblage of competent sound minds and upwardly mobile youthful politicians that will make Okigwe zone proud.
He applauded the developmental efforts of past Senators in the zone and chronologically outlined his proactive development master plan in partnership with political leaders as critical stakeholders.
Furthermore, he unveiled plans to harness the hitherto untapped tourists potentials, resuscitate moribund establishments with priority given to rural and state roads interconnectivity to hook Okigwe zone to the outside world.
“An all-inclusive political summit and interface for effective appraisals and cross- fertilisation of ideas to trigger aggressive socioeconomic and political advancement of the zone will be held periodically”, he submitted.
Rt Hon Ihim who is also the immediate-past President, Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa region listed his scorecards to include job creation, attraction of projects, hosting of the novelty CPA Delegate Conference that attracted over 54 African countries in Owerri to discuss topical issues of bilateral relations and unity of the black Continent, to the confirmation and applause of his audience.
Continuing, he recounted to their ovation and applause how he singlehandedly convened the first ever Joint Session of Speakers and members of the legislature from the South-East and South-South to stop the controversial “Grazing Bill” and Hate Speech that nearly threw the nation into pandemonium and turmoil.
Extolling the giant strides of Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma in hooking Imo to the All Progressives Congress (APC) national political grid, revamping the states economy, massive roads rehabilitation scheme and human capital upliftment, Ihim, the levite, spiritedly reechoed his vow to remain loyal and religiously align with the governor to maintain his stronghold in the State and successfully deliver on his 3R mantra.
Replying on behalf of the appointees, Hon Regis Uwakwe, Hon Okey Uduh, Hon Fabian Ihekweme and Hon (Mrs) Ruby Emele all testified to the unrivalled humility, benevolence, experience, competence, loyalty, and trustworthiness of Rt Hon Ihim as well as describing him as a system loyalist who will not be found wanting in any manner.
They urged him to remain stoic in pursuing his ambition, and assured him of their prayers and support and wished him success in his efforts at representing Okigwe zone in the senate.
