The Interim Management Committee (IMC) Chairman of Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA Chief Sir Francis Samuel Onyeberechi has applauded the wife of the Imo State Governor, Barr. Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma for putting smiles on the faces of over 3000 indigent women in the state during the just concluded 2020 women August meeting.
The IMC boss, Sir Onyeberechi stated this at the occasion marking the 2020 women August meeting for Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency which took place at Afor Oru, the council headquarters of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA.
Chief Sir Onyeberechi thanked the wife of the Governor, Barr. Mrs Chioma Uzodinma for ensuring that the women of the state marked this year’s August meeting even when all hope was lost due to the outbreak of the global pandemic Coronavirus which has adversely affected many countries of the world.
Speaking further, he lauded Barr. Mrs. Chioma Uzodinma for coming to the aid of over 3000 indigent women in the state with about 112 women from his local government benefited from her kind gesture of certain amount stressing that it will go a long way in reducing the sufferings of indigent women in the state.
While commenting on the theme of this year’s Imo women August meeting which is anchored on preventing violence against women and girl child , Chief Sir F. S. Onyeberechi called on them to avoid letting their female children loose so as to avoid falling victim of rape and other forms of violence against women. He urged all mothers in the state most especially women from Ezinihitte Mbaise LGA to desist from sending their female children to hawk or run errands in lonely places or during odd hours to avoid been molested by criminal elements in the society.
The Council boss also charged women to always speak out whenever their rights are been violated or trampled upon or denied them by any man maintaining that the individual or group of persons involved will be made to face the law, no matter how highly placed the individual is in the society.
The Ezinihitte Mbaise IMC Chairman therefore urged women in the state to put to use what they have learnt from this year’s August meeting once they are back to their respective homes and to their different communities to ensure that the state experiences more peace, unity and progress for a better Imo State.
