Solomon Okechukwu Onwuegbuchulam, a fire brand politician, grassroots mobilizer and former Interim Management Council Chairman of Owerri North local government area, who in a passionate desire to transform, reposition and reinvigorate the party for the challenges ahead, has indicated his interest to contest for the position of State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming congress.
Speaking exclusively to our reporter, the articulate and amiable Obibiezena born Chief Executive Officer of De-Chriscords Farms, promised his supporters that he would align with like-minds to ensure that internal democracy, strict adherence to rules, guidelines and procedure as stipulated in the party’s constitution at all times and in all circumstances.
He enjoined all lovers of democracy, fairness and due process to key into his vision and throw their weight behind him in the overall interest of the party and it’s members.
“As a committed and devoted member of our great party, I have made up my mind to serve and contribute my quota towards the growth and sustenance of our party and it’s ideals. I would not under any circumstance mortgage the interest of our party or allow my personal desire or ambition conflict with our collective interest or derail the focus, goal or aspiration of our great party, which interest is bigger and should be considered before our individual interests”, he stated.
“As State Secretary of the party, God willing, I will not only take record of happenings and events in the state secretariat, but will also ensure synergy with the secretaries of the 27 local government areas chapter of PDP, who I will always carry along for the smooth running and administration of our party”.
Onwuegbuchulam, a knight of St Christopher (KSC) commended the leaders of the party for injecting fresh blood into the leadership of Imo State chapter of the party, stressing that, “the leadership acumen and administrative ingenuity of our party leaders are indicators that the PDP is being packaged and repositioned for exploits. At the fullness of time, their giant strides will make great impact that will be felt by all, amidst joy, and happiness for a job well done”.
With his entrance to the race, he is now left to sludge it out with Nze Ray Emeana who is the current Secretary of the party.The duo of Emeana and Onwuegbuchulam hail from Owerri zone.
