The Imo State Police Command has arrested a 47 year old man Uchenna Egbuchulem, for raping and impregnating his own 17 year old biological daughter.
The suspect who hails from Nduhu, Alaenyi Ogwa Community, in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, according to police report had forced his 17 year old daughter, Adaku Egbuchulem to bed and threatened to kill her with a matchet before having canal knowledge of her.
The man according to further police investigation had started taking advantage of his daughter when his Ivorian wife and mother of the girl divorced him and went back to her Cote De’Voir home He then threatened the daughter to ensure she kept her mouth shut or lose not just his parental care but her life in the event she spills the beans of his erotic affairs with her.
Men of the Mbaitoli Divisional Police Headquarters however arrested Uchenna Egbuchulem after receiving a distress report from a good samaritan. He is presently in their custody and will assist them to continue investigation into the matter to ascertain his motives and the amount of damage already done to the girl.
According to the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ikeokwu Godson Orlando, the suspect Uchenna Egbuchulem will be charged to court accordingly after investigation.
Only last month, the people and residents of Orji in Owerri North LGA also of Imo State dragged a man and his 15 year old daughter to the Orji Divisional Police station for engaging in mutual sex or incest. Though the Orji police promptly released the father and child on bail, the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) waded in to re-arrest the man for further interrogation and prosecution.
Both father and daughter have interestingly admitted to the act with the girl claiming that she kept sealed lips and enjoyed the several rounds of sexual intercourse with her biological father because he threatened to kill her if she refuses or reports his overtures to anyone for that matter the way his sent her mother away. The romance between father and daughter lasted for almost one year before suspicious neighbours caught them while in the act.
