– Promises to sustain IGR drive
The newly appointed Chairman, Imo Internally Generate Revenue Service (IIGRS), Chief Justice Remigius Okoye has assumed office, amidst applause and high expectations owing to his rich background and experience in financial management as well as his integrity and fear of God which have guided his conduct wherever he has found himself.
Speaking during the handover ceremony which took place at the corporate office of the Imo Internally Generated Revenue Service (IIGRS) in Owerri last Friday, April 8, 2020, the new Chairman, Chief Remigius Okoye thanked his predecessor and immediate past Chairman, Prince Emma Onunaku for his fatherly advice and requested of him to always keep his doors open to him as he would regularly visit him for clarifications.
Stressing that they were all Imo People committed to growing the state’s IGR, the new Chairman urged the staff of the establishment to give him same support as they had given Prince Onunaku, adding that growing tne IGR was a collective responsibility.
Earlier in his address, the Immediate past Chairman of Imo Internally Generated Revenue Service (IIGRS) Prince Emma Onunaku had called on the staff to give the new Chairman, Chief Okoye maximum support to succeed, informing the chairman that he would always be available to him at all times.
Prince Onunaku prayed God to give the new chairman, Chief Remigius Okoye the wisdom to achieve his vision for IIGRS and move the agency to a higher level.
The Media Adviser to the Imo Internally Generated Revenue Services (IIGRS), Dr. Joseph Aniemeka Nwachukwu who spoke to our reporter afterwards promised that the activities of Chief Remigius Okoye towards enhancing the IGR base of the state would always get adequate publicity.
Dr. Nwachukwu called on media practitioners in the state to always support the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma in his efforts to boost the IGR of the state, saying that this informed the governor’s appointment of very competent technocrats to be in charge of the Imo Internally Generated Revenue Service (IIGRS)
Also present at the handover ceremony was the new Director of Administration, Mr. J.U. Ogwunga.
