The Deputy speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Chyna Amara Iwuanyanwu has congratulated the governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma on his 100 days in office.
Speaking with our reporter on phone, yesterday, Iwuanyanwu averred that Uzodinma has within his 100 days in office surpassed the expectations of every Imolite through well thought out programs and visionary leadership which he said place premium on welfare of the people.
He commended the governor for his proactive measures in tackling Corona Virus Pandemic which he said has made it possible for Imo State to be counted as one of the very few states of the federation without any index case of Coronavirus. “This is not an easy feat. We must commend the governor for this while supporting him to ensure the deadly disease does not invade our dear state. The challenge is for all of us. Not for the governor alone. Opposition leaders must stop trivializing the situation and join the government to fight the pandemic”, Iwuanyanwu advised.
The Deputy Speaker urged Imo people to be patient with the Governor, stating that it would have only taken a quintessential leader like governor Uzodinma to achieve as much as he has achieved within this period, under the prevailing circumstance.
Speaking further, Iwuanyawu expressed optimism that governor Uzodinma will not only improve on our infrastructure but will ensure job opportunities for our teeming unemployed youths.
Speaking on the efforts being made by him to cushion the effect of the pandemic in his immediate constituency, the deputy speaker said that he is in touch with his constituents and periodically sharing food items and money to them, realizing how dangerous it is to stay without food. He pleaded with Imo people to adhere to the advice of the government and experts on the need for social distancing, saying that it is for the good of all of us.
