A case of rape and defilement of a minor and incest has been reported at the Umundula village Orji Uratta Divisional Police Station in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, involving one commercial bus driver Chinomso Okonkwo, “M”, 44 year old, for defiling his own daughter, Miss Blessing Okonkwo, 15. The suspected incestuous father, Chinomso Okonkwo who is now with the police on interrogation by police authorities who are investigating the report has since confessed to the crime. The immoral act would have been concealed but for his neighbours who caught him pants down.
It was also learnt that this was not the first time the 44 year old Nkwerre LGA indigene who started as an okada rider in Owerri is committing incest with his own daughter but what is strange is that the culprit usually invites his mutual friends to take turns in having canal knowledge or sexual intercourse with his daughter, perhaps at an agreed price right in his own house.
It was learnt that at press time, the suspect for obvious reasons sent his wife away to enable him engage in the illicit affair with his own daughter without let or hindrance. It was also gathered that previous attempts by neigbours at Orji to find out why the poor girl was always crying and moaning at night, each time, the father forces her into a sexual bout failed until that particular day, Monday, April 13, 2020, when the girls loud cries attracting their attention. Upon forcing the entrance door open, they met the man and her daughter completely naked and dragged them to the Police Station at Orji, after extracting their confession that they engage in incest.
An eye witness account reported that the daughter had resorted to a loud cry, when the father came to have sexual intercourse with her for the second time, the same night which was becoming unbearable and too painful for her after her uncle Igwe, who lives at IBC quarters also at Orji and a savings and loans scheme operator equally subjected the same girl to several rounds of sex after complaining to him how the father forces her to have sex every night. The two brothers, Igwe and Chinomso from Nkwerre village have been in the practice for some time now.
An undaunted Chinomso Okonkwo is presently cooling his heels at the police cell in Orji Uratta Station pending when he will be arraigned in court perhaps after the lockdown, while the daughter attempt to evacuate their belongings to Nkwerre was resisted by indigenes of Orji and their neighbours who said they must first appease the gods of Orji land. Another report has it that the father and daughter were released on bail same day the case was reported.
Imo State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Godson Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Owerri, adding that the man partakes in sharing the money paid by his friends who sleep with his daughter in their matrimonial home.
