The apex youth body in Orlu zone, Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, working in conjunction with scores of other groups in the zone has concluded arrangements to hold a civic reception in honour of Governor Hope Uzodinma.
The group has consequently appointed Comrades JohnDonald Ikegwuruka, Precious Nwadike, Jeff Nwaoha, Collins Opurozor and Maxwell Ezelagu into the planning committee of the epoch-making event. The committee was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Board of Trustees of the Assembly and charged to deliver a resounding reception for the Governor.
The reception, which is first of its kind since the mandate of Gov Uzodinma was validated at the supreme court in mid January, is slated for April 18, 2020 at Orlu Township Stadium.
A release issued by the committee stated that the chairman of the occasion will be Chief Charles Orie while one of the foremost Traditional rulers,HRM,Eze(Dr) EC Okeke,chairman of Orlu zone Council of Traditional Rulers will be the Royal father of the day; the keynote address will be delivered by the Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. Adaobi Obasi.
“All traditional institutions, socio-cultural groups, religious bodies, student unions, market unions, members of the organised labour, town unions, professional bodies, political leaders and all sons and daughters of Orlu zone are to be in attendance to give resounding reception to our brother and set the agenda for a better and more prosperous Imo state,” the release hinted.
Already the secretariat of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly at No.14 Alhaji Tijani Street in Orlu has lately come alive with various other bodies that intend to partner with the group for the grand reception making representations.
