As the Local government election in Imo, originally slated December 2019 draws closer, one of the frontline contenders, Hon Ugochukwu Olumba, has begun in earnest, reaching out to leaders and members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a bid to win their hearts.
The soft spoken Orlu Community born social crusader had recently visited Orlu/Mgbee Government station Secretariat to interact with the Leaders and members of the party and to officially inform them of his resolve to contest for the chairmanship position in the proposed council election.
Speaking at the occasion, Olumba assured the ward leaders that his ambition is that of every Orlu LGA person who aspires for good governance and consolidation of governor Emeka Ihedioha’s good works so far.
He boasted that out of the numerous aspirants that are presently in the race, he remains the most outstanding considering the fact that he is closer to the people than others whose only reason for identifying with the masses, is politics.
He pledged to assist Governor Emeka Ihedioha to achieve the Rebuild Imo project which he said is fast gaining momentum and transforming Imo to a modern city.
Reacting to Hon. Ugochukwu Olumba’s speech, the ward Chairman, Mr Lambert Ajaegbu, averred that his excitement knew no bounds considering the fact that one of his die hard PDP members has thrown his hat into the ring. He assured that electorate of Orlu/Mgbe Government Station will support the foremost aspirant to ensure that the dream comes true.
The Meeting had in attendance prominent Ward Leaders of the party, most of who spoke and encouraged Olumba to keep the spirit alive.
