There has been total disquite in Imo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress since after the news of the return of a notable APC leader in the state,Chief Felix Uche Onyenwe ( OJI URE EGBU AGU) to the Peoples Democratic party,PDP,
On Saturday 19th october 2019, the political atmosphere in Aboh Mbaise PDP was saturated with an air of excitement and electrifying jubilation as Chief Onyenwe made his formal return to the PDP.
In a well attended mini reception ceremony organized in his honor over the weekend at the residence of Mr Friday Nwosu(Italy) chapter chairman of PDP in Uvuru ward 1 Aboh Mbaise LGA, Chief Bedewell Ehiriudo, the PDP Apex leader in the ward expressed his happiness for the return of Chief Onyenwe to the party.
He described Chief Onyenwe as an astute and refined politician who understands the political Dynamics in Aboh Mbaise and urged him to remain resolute and committed in building the party in the LGA.
In his own reaction, Chief G.U Madugba also applauded Chief Onyenwe for his return to the party and charged him to bring his wealth of political experience into bear especially in ensuring that dividends of democracy are brought to Uvuru ward 1 and Aboh Mbaise at large. Chief sir Simon Chikwendu, Mr Adimchi Oguzie and Mr Law Iwejuo expressed optimism that the return of Chief Onyenwe to the party has crippled the power of opposition in the ward.
Some PDP leaders in Aboh Mbaise and the state also described the return of Chief Onyenwe to the party as a big catch and a great political milestone.
Addressing the party leaders, Chief Uche Onyenwe, a retired insurance broker pointed out that his reason for returning to the PDP is to join hand I rebuilding the party and to give his maximum support to Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha whom he described his victory as a divine gift to the state. “I am happy to return to the party I was part of.
I must commend the leaders of the party in my ward and the LGA for their esteemed commitment in the party. I also want to use this opportunity to congratulate the Governor for his resounding victory and pray God to give him more wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state.
I am very optimistic that with him the glory of the state will be restored. I am equally calling on all Imolites to join hands in rebuilding the state”.
Before Chief Onyenwe’s exit from PDP, he was the former acting Chairman of the party in Aboh Mbaise and former Deputy chairman of the party. Recently, before his return to PDP, he was the former chairman of APC elders council in Aboh Mbaise and a caucus member of APC.
The reception ceremony was well attended by all the leaders of the party . Later the people were stupendously entertained with asorteds.
