The association also commended the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof Martins Uchenna Nwankwo, for conducting the most credible, transparent, free and fair SUG election that is and will remain a reference point in the history of IMSU.
She has also improved the quality of teaching and learning. This has culminated in the introduction of more courses into the school’s curriculum and accreditation of others including the Law Faculty which lost accreditation for over five years as a result of poor or non-existent necessary conditions and facilities. It is also on record that she has created a more conducive environment for academic and non-academic staff to perform optimally by facilitating the construction of more administrative and academic buildings in the university by prudently deploying funds and also blocking all financial loopholes and conduit pipes.
Responding to a question, Aluta Bishop, an acclaimed student leader and vocal defender of the rights of Nigerian students posited that, “reports from IMSU attest that, Prof Obasi’s zero tolerance for corruption, indolence, ineptitudes and all forms of official misconduct has put staff on their toes,resulting in optimal performance and achievement of set goals and objectives with precision”.
