Stop Blackmailing Imo Government, Olu Owerri To Okorocha

In a Press release in Owerri, signed by the President of the organization, Chief Martin Opara and Secretary, Barr. Sylvester Nwogu, the group said, “there is no iota of truth in the allegation that the daughter of Okorocha was slapped by a taskforce member during the recovery of looted government properties” hid inside containers at an estate allegedly owned by Mrs Nkechi Okorocha, wife of the former Governor.

Olu Owerri noted that contrary to the falsehood been bandied around by Okorocha and his paid agents, the Imo State Government has not met the demand of the masses in Imo State for a comprehensive probe of the last administration and the immediate need for the comprehensive revocation of all Certificates of Occupancy, C of Os, for all lands acquired with government instruments but converted to private use by the former Governor to build Estates, Private Schools and Hotels

The group further lampooned the former first family, now known for sponsorship of touts to intimidate opponents and harass illustrious sons and daughters of the State, for stealing government properties despite the monumental looting it superintended in the eight (8) years of the Okorocha administration.

The group reminded Okorocha and his gang of their assault, on the catholic faithful, before the Archbishop, at Assumpta Cathedral Owerri, during the political debate for Governorship candidates in 2014; the near assault on the Arch Bishop of Owerri at Obube-Ulakwo, Owerri North LGA during a burial mass and that Imolites are yet to forget their physical assault on the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, as well as the then APC Chairman, Chief Hillary Eke and other APC party faithful at the APC Convention in Abuja, before the full view of all Nigerians. The ugly incident at Eagle Square Abuja, even took place while the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was busy reading his historic address at the convention area, when Okorocha and his bestial thugs threw caution to the dogs and descended on both Madumere, Hilary Eke and others, with heavy beatings, punches, slaps and kicks.

It concluded by urging the public and the Ihedioha led government to ignore the blackmail by Okorocha who is known to be hiring touts to throw stones at peaceful protesters, including the poor pensioners who came together to ask for payment of their near seventy (70) months pension.
