Chief Sir Felix Chidi Idiga has been honoured with award of fellowship and inducted into the 2019 Fellowship Hall of Fame of the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics, Ghana.
Certificate of the “honoris causa” award and recognition which was conferred on the business mogul from Amaifeke in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo state was delivered by a three-man delegation of the institute to Nigeria led by the Vice President, Amb. (Dr) Tom Ohikere; a United Nations Peace and Culture Ambassador.
Other members of the delegation include Dr. Richards I. Kpoku; an Executive Director in the Institute and Olanrewaju Sadiq, Head of Correspondence and Administration in the Nigeria office of the Institute.
Reading via a written address from the Institute’s Governing Council and Advisory Board, Kpoku said the delegation was in Nigeria “to confer and honour one of Africa’s notable professionals; a United States’ entrepreneurial personality of international repute and a most patriotic nation builder in the person of Chief Felix Chidi Idiga with a prestigious lifetime Senior Fellowship recognition award, following his impressive and enviable track records as a highly accomplished management technocrat and worthy statesman who has made and still making tremendous socio-economic impact towards national development for the progress, peace and unity of one Nigeria”
According to the institute, Idiga’s nomination followed more than five years of intensive research on his personality with regards to national service and development.
“Chief Felix Chidi Idiga, please kindly be informed that the Advisory Board and Governing Council of this institute which is made up of men and women of proven integrity, captains of industry, exemplary political figures and elder states’ persons with distinct ingenuity have unanimously selected you as one of the Seven honorees for the 2019 Fellowship Hall of Fame.
“This is as a result of your phenomenal professionalism which you have always demonstrated over the years, and exemplary leadership integrity as a highly distinguished, multi-dimensional erudite intellectual. This institute is also commending you for your deep sense of public service in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and even in the global stage”, the institutes observes.
According to the written address in parts, the institute has come to identify with Idiga’s monumental landmark performances and success stories “as a notable compatriot with a difference having spent close to three decades in stimulating socio-economic growth and development in Nigeria and the Diaspora, serving as investment advisor to the government and enhancing strategic and robust platforms for foreign direct investments to major economic sectors of Nigeria.
“We have also come to identify with your astuteness, inspirational leadership philosophies, and your patriotism as a selfless nation builder with humble beginnings which had ultimately made you a reference point and authority in the global business landscape”
It further explains that after carefully going through Idiga’s industrious pedigree of service to Nigeria, “your foresight and purposeful vibrancy through dint of hard work, perseverance, honesty, integrity and particularly your indefatigable patriotism to your fatherland, we sincerely admire your exemplary leadership prowess in promoting good governance and raising a popular leader like President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), to bring dividends of democracy to Nigerians”
The address revealed that the Good Governance Ambassadors of Nigeria (GOGAN) which Idiga was the National Chairman and Coordinator had brought about greater consciousness and developments to all strata of ethnic divides in Nigeria, adding that through the development of blueprint of GOGAN, that Nigeria had experienced improved leadership stability and a revamped economy that has earned her a position of prestige in the league of economically stable nations of the world.
“We salute your leadership tenacity as a greatly revered Pan-Africanist and Global Resource personality, most importantly sir, is the fact that your name and offices have never been found wanting in any financial malpractices, abuse of office or indictment of misconduct of any kind.
“Your incorruptible track records of accomplishments are monumental in the annals of Nigeria’s history. All of these indices attest to reasons why you have been specially recognized by our institute”, the addressed from the institute reads.
The brief ceremony which took place in the Abuja national secretariat of GOGAN witnessed the decoration of Idiga with an academic gown of the institute, presentations of certificate, golden medal and a plague. The wife of the awardee, Chief Mrs. Chinyere Idiga and his son, Mr. Felix Iyke Idiga, Hon. Alhaji Gambo Wanu, Dr. Obiora Orji, Comrade Greg Nwadike, Chief Valentino Ugbala were among dignitaries and friends present at the occasion.
In his brief response, Idiga thanked the institute for finding him worthy of celebration, adding that the recognition would further motivate him into doing more good works for humanity and Nigeria, as well as contributing his very best quota towards the development and progress of the institution.
