De-Continental Fast Food was on Sunday, 26th of May, 2019, officially opened and commissioned by Dr Vin Udokwu,the Director General of Ihedioha Campaign Organization.
In his speech during the commissioning ceremony, Chief Vin Udokwu congratulated the proprietor, Hon. Chinonso Akwaeke, for such noble initiative. He said, it is good for indigenes of a community to bring growth and development to the community, instead of waiting for visitors to do so because, it will ultimately benefit them and their generation more. He advised the initiator not to despise the days of his humble beginning, recalling how he(Udokwu) started his medical and political career.
The owner of the fast Food, Hon. Chinonso Akwaeke, a contractor and an indigene of Ebenator Orsu in Orlu zone said, he built the fast food out of his desire to bring an innovation in Orlu, where people can have quick, quality service and enjoy fresh and nourishing food in a very hygienic environment. Talking about security challenges in Orlu, he said that as an expert in security issues, he knows what is involved and how best to address the issue.
Hon. Barr. Modestus Nwaele, a legal practitioner in his speech said that the fast food is the type of thing needed in Orlu, where people can visit, feel at home, relax and enjoy well cooked food instead of going to Owerri or any other places. He commended Hon. Chinonso Akwaeke, for bringing good things home because charity he said, begins at home.
Barr. Udebuzo Ikebuagu, expressed joy at the development. He described it as dream come true. He said that, it has been his dream to add to the growth of Orlu and put a stop to the common belief that other places have developed except Orlu and Okigwe.
However, he objects to the belief because, Ideato which is the industrial base of Imo state is in Orlu zone. He said that, it is out of the urge to develop Orlu that they decided to establish a first class eatery in Orlu and soon other things will follow.
