The governorship candidate of the Reform and Advancement Party (RAP), Barr. Okere Kingdom Nnamdi, has restated the need to probe the outgoing Rochas Okorocha’s administration, so as to recover every kobo stolen from Imo treasury and to use the billions of Naira to be recovered from Rochas Okorocha and his family to build industries that will employ Imo youths.
Barr Okere, who in the last one week to the governorship election announced his endorsement of the PDP candidate stated this in a chat with newsmen in owerri. He congratulated the governor elect, Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha for emerging victorious at the march 9th 2019 election and offered to work with him in realizing the goal of his administration.
Okere who is an Abuja based Human Rights Lawyer urged the incoming administration to ensure the probe of Rochas Okorocha administration, to recover every stolen Imo resources, particularly, the Imo missing bailout fund that was said to have been stolen by the former cook serving Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, who was also the governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA).
Barr. kingdom Okere stated thus, “Uche Nwosu’s threat of going to the Tribunal to recover what he called “stolen mandate” is laughable in the sense that, he is on his way to prison. He must be prosecuted over the Imo bailout fund, Paris club refunds, all the illegal acquisition of lands to himself and the Okorocha family when he was the Commissioner for Lands, Survey, Housing and Development, the diversion of Imo local government monthly allocations from the federal government through the Transition Committee Chairmen, must all be investigated and all those indicted must be prosecuted and sentenced to prison. It is therefore ridiculous that a prison candidate is talking about Tribunal”.
Barr. Kingdom also called on other governorship candidates in the just concluded election to support the incoming Ihedioha administration to recover Imo from Okorocha’s mess and economic decay. And equally commended President Muhammadu Buhari, for delivering his promise of free and fair election, noting that the President did not in any way, try to interfere in the conduct of Imo State governorship election.
Barr. Okere described President Buhari as a true democrat and a statesman, Per excellence. He also commended all the security agencies for performing their duties professionally and in accordance to the law, which culminated in a number of arrest of hoodlums and fake security personnel, hired by Uche Nwosu in his do or die suicidal bid to succeed father-inlaw.
