Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha, like the proverbial cat with nine lives, has once more reiterated his strong, unflinching and unalloyed support for President Muhammadu Buhari, who he had, like Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, predicted would win the presidential election of 2019. He has however, taken very strong exception to the insinuation in some quarters, claiming that he has parted way with the All Progressives Congress (APC), or that he announced his exit, at an event recently.

The embattled Governor stated this in a release issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo. The undated release captioned, “Re-Governor Rochas Okorocha dumps APC, says, APC is a party of fake people”. Onwuemeodo had explained that, it is an amusing tale by moonlight for people to peddle such dangerous rumour, about the Governors defection to Action Alliance (AA).

The story which has been trending and gone viral in social media, had it that the Governor, took the decision to quit APC during December 31, 2018, crossover night prayer, at Government House chapel, Owerri. He, however expressed total rejection of the manner Senator Hope Uzodinma emerged as the APC governorship candidate, describing it, as stolen ticket. Okorocha attributed the latest resort to grapevine news to the frustration confronting his contemporaries, who he said have become stranded, hence they are pre-occupied with, “looking for who to blame, for their woes”.
